Data Sharing Policy
The Data Sharing Policy aims to promote transparency and accountability in scientific research and enable the academic community to build knowledge more efficiently and effectively.
The Scientific Renaissance Journal of the Open University of Sabha encourages open research practices and transparency and supports the principle of sharing research data whenever possible and appropriate. Making data available supports the verifiability of results, enhances data reuse, and accelerates scientific discovery.
The journal's policy aims to strike a balance between openness and the protection of individual privacy and sensitive data:
- Encouraging Sharing: The journal strongly encourages authors to make their primary research data that support published findings available, either by depositing them in public data repositories or making them available upon request.
- Recommended Data Repositories: The journal recommends depositing data in reliable, public, and industry-accredited data repositories that ensure long-term archiving and accessibility.
- Data Privacy and Participant Protection: In cases involving sensitive data or personal information, authors must take all necessary measures to protect the privacy of participants. Sharing this data must comply with all relevant ethical and legal regulations and may require explicit consent from participants or review by an ethics committee.
- Qualitative data: For qualitative research where sharing raw data directly is difficult without compromising privacy, the journal encourages authors to provide edited versions or illustrative extracts of the data, with a clear explanation of the methodology used to analyze and interpret them.
- Data verification by reviewers (optional): In some cases, reviewers or the editorial board may request access to raw data to verify findings. Authors should be prepared to securely provide this data if requested, while maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
