Post-Publication Corrections
These are formal procedures undertaken by Al-Nahda Scientific Journal to correct errors in published research, including:
- Correction notices (for substantive errors that affect interpretation),
- Errata (for minor errors),
- Retraction of the paper in cases of manipulation or serious ethical violations.
These amendments are documented through the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure the integrity of scientific research.
Types of Post-Publication Corrections:
- Correction Notice: Used when a substantive error is made by the authors or publisher that affects the results or conclusions. A corrected version is published and linked to the original paper.
- Errata: Correction of minor errors that do not affect the integrity of the research, such as spelling or punctuation mistakes.
- Expression of Concern: Issued by the journal when there are serious doubts or ongoing investigations regarding the credibility of the research.
- Retraction: Used in extreme cases (manipulation, plagiarism, substantially false data). The results are removed or clearly indicated as unreliable.
Correction Procedures:
- Correction Request: A formal request is submitted to the journal; the consent of all authors is preferred.
- Review: Requests are reviewed by the editorial board and may require additional information.
- Linking: The correction notice is electronically linked to the original research to ensure readers have access to the correct information.
It is always recommended to contact the journal's editorial board directly if an error is discovered after publication.
